Lieutenant Jordan Hester

Lieutenant Jordan Hester was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and a Minor in Mathematics from the University of Florida. After graduation, LT Hester commissioned through Officer Candidate School in Newport, Rhode Island.

Upon commissioning, LT Hester reported to Naval Nuclear Power Training Command in Charleston, South Carolina. LT Hester then finished his nuclear power training at Naval Nuclear Power Training Unit in Ballston Spa, New York. After his time in New York, he attended Submarine Officer Basic Course in Groton, Connecticut.

In April 2014, LT Hester reported to USS CONNECTICUT (SSN 22), a Seawolf class fast-attack submarine, homeported in Bremerton, Washington. Shortly after arriving in Washington, LT Hester completed a Western Pacific deployment on USS SAN FRANCISCO (SSN 711), a Los Angeles class fast-attack submarine, for qualifications. LT Hester returned to CONNECTICUT and served as the Reactor Control Assistant, Communication Officer, and Sea Trials Coordinator.

In June 2017, Lieutenant Hester reported to NROTC UCLA as a Submarine Officer Instructor.

LT Hester’s awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal and various unit awards.
